 A friend sent this comparison that looks interesting


1.      Both attended elite universities (Wharton and Oxford) despite being substandard students.

2.      Both like to use abusive language and personally attack their political rivals.

3.      Both damaged their countries' foreign policies.

4.      Both have evaded taxes.

5.      Both have little or no tolerance for criticism.

6.      Both had no prior administrative or governing experience before taking the helm.

7.      Both beat the same drum "Make America great again," and "Naya Pakistan."

8.      Both made and exercised policies that led to inflation.

9.      Both have given misogynistic statements and later defended them.

10.   Both have large numbers of female supporters, despite making disrespectful remarks about women; they are loved for their "sex appeal."

11.   Both were playboys or still are.

12.   Both incite their supporters to violence, acting as opposition while being in power.

13.   Both deny ethnic biases (Trump against blacks and Imran against Xinjiang's Muslims).

14.   Both have had offshore companies but accuse their opponents of that.

15.   Both have a history of multiple divorces.

16.   Both use religious cards for their politics (Trump is seen with the Bible and Imran with Tasbee)

17.   Both are described by political scientists as dictatorial populists

18.   Both relish the phenomenon of vindictive politics

19.   Both claimed that the COVID virus would go away with the US or Pakistan's heat in summer.

20.   Both sang the same slogan, “Don’t panic,” and “Ghabrana nahi.”

21.   Both praised each other's personalities.

22.   Both support extremist groups (KKK and Tehreek Taliban of Pakistan).

23.   Both incite their supporters to invade official buildings (US Capitol and Sindh House) on seeing their ouster.

24.   Both enjoy lavish lifestyles without disclosing the source of income behind that.

25.   Both have similarly behaving die-hard supporters, unwilling to consider facts and waiting for a miracle man to fix other people (not the supporters).

26.   Both will go to any length to demolish or disrespect any institution for their ego.

27.   Both like Vladimir Putin, much against their countries’ interests.

28.   Both have destroyed their countries’ economies.

29.   Both claim conspiracy for their political defeats.

30.   Both do ads: When Trump was doing a Pizza ad, Imran was doing a Pepsi ad.

31.   Both are unabashed narcissistic and claim they can never be wrong.

32.   Both use long speeches talking not about their countries' problems but about themselves.

33.   Both do not accept their obvious defeat. 

34.   Both have shown contempt for their country’s constitutions.

35.   Both enjoyed non-political celebrity status before coming into power.

36.   Both claimed to be incorruptible messiahs of their nations.

37.   Both came into power primarily by screaming grievances against the past governments.

38.   Both have received no-confidence votes (impeached and voted to be ousted).

39.   Both have a penchant for changing their words quickly (most U-turns).

40.   Both have right-wing extremists as supporters.

41.   Both blame their loyalists when things go wrong.

42.   Both have the widest gaps between claims and delivering performance.

43.   Both became newborn religious devotees (Trump started loving the church and Imran started loving Peers)

44.   Both will do whatever it takes to win, legal or illegal.

45.   Both vowed to remove corruption while being surrounded by the most corrupt loyalists.

46.   Both have education absent as a priority in their policies.

47.   Both are unappreciative of people who helped them in their lives – you will not hear them saying thanks to those people.

48.   Both despise listening to logic but relish hearing things they like.

49.   Both consume massive quantities of food.

50.   Both share a remarkable resemblance between their main residence (beige walls and identical brown tile roofs, spanning vast acres of land).
