Till 1946 Pandit Nehru was not ready to acknowledged 1857 as a symbol of resistant yet in his book (published in 1946) he called it an effort launched by the Feudals  fought by the Feudals and for the interests of Feudals. but after august 1947, he took  U-turn and dramatically started advocating it under compulsion of new thesis of historical continuity as adopted by newly formed country's think tanks in which 1857 got prime importance.   just read
