Interviews

Grewal recalls his early years spent in a Sikh village in an undivided Punjab. Trouble and tension were brewing up in the villages in the lead up to the Partition in 1947. Grewal remembers how his life was saved by his Muslim friend, and recalls the joyous moment when he met him, many years later, while on a visit to Pakistan

Picture of Jinnah & Iqbal & misleading tweets of Imran Khan (Facts speak louder)

Picture of Jinnah & Iqbal & misleading tweets of Imran Khan  (Facts speak louder)

Dr Jahangir Khan never claimed but Imran Khan is adamant that he had attended RTC, even Majid Khan did not know about it and remember Imran khan claimed it for twice in 4 years

At August 07, 2022 the selected former PM did a Tweet in which he shared a historic picture and in the tweet he wrote,
''The historic Round Table Conference London 1930 with both Quaid i Azam & Allama Iqbal present. The picture is pride of my family bec my grandfather's brother Mohammad Zaman Khan (after whom Zaman Park was named) & my khaloo Jahangir Khan were also present (2nd & 3rd from left).''

Imran khan shared same photo in 2018 too but information about the photo was different from his August 07 tweet. In 2018 he claimed the year of picture was 1932 but information was wrong in old tweet too.

Facts about RTCs , Dr Jahangir Khan

and the Photo under discussion.

As par the website of Dr Jahangir Khan he was born in 1910 and he did his B.A from Islamia College, Lhore in 1931. He represented India in her first ever Test against England at Lord's in 1932. He was not in England in 1930 as claimed by Imran Khan.

Round Table Conferences
From November 1930 till December 1932, Three RTCs were organized in England to discuss Indian future.

First RTC, November 1930-Jan 1931) Allama Iqbal did not attend it.
The eight British political parties were represented by sixteen delegates. There were fifty-eight political leaders from British India and sixteen delegates from the princely states. In total 74 delegates from India attended the Conference. However, the Indian National Congress, along with Indian business leaders, kept away from the conference.
List of Participants
Muslim LeagueAga Khan III (leader of British-Indian delegation), Muhammad Ali JinnahMaulana Mohammad Ali JauharMuhammad ShafiMuhammad Zafarullah KhanSir Abdul Halim GhuznaviSir Ghulam Hussain HidayatullahAK Fazlul Huq, Dr. Shafa'at Ahmad Khan, Raja Sher Muhammad Khan of Domel.

Second RTC  September 1931, Both Jinnah & Iqbal attended but Dr Jahangir was in Lhore at that time
The idea of an All-India Federation was moved to the centre of discussion by Tej Bahadur Sapru. All the groups attending the conference supported this concept. (Ref Transfer of Power).

Third RTC,  17 November 1932  Iqbal attended it but Jinnah did not attend it.

Photo and some prominent names, Thanks to Majid Khan

I saw the picture in the drawing room of Majid Khan who is son of Dr Jahangir Khan.  He identifies few names and other than Jinnah & Iqbal their names are

Dr Jahangir Khan (He was in England for Lords test and after the tour, he stayed back in England and took a doctorate from Cambridge University.)
Zaman Khan ( A government officer in Post & Telegraph)
Khwaja Rahim , father of Khwaja Tariq Rahim
Manzur Qadir  Son of Sir Abdul Qadir , Son in law of Mian Fazl e Hussain and served as Foreign minister.
Malik Mir Sultan, A European Chess Champion
Pir Ahsanuddin ICS
Umar Hayat Tiwana father of Khizar Hayat Tiwana

It is a historic picture and it may be a dinner party organized by Ch Rehmat Ali in honour of Allama Iqbal and it is a rare picture in which you can find Ch Rahmat Ali, Jinnah and Iqbal but it is not a RTC meeting  photo as claimed by Imran Khan. Both his relatives  (Dr Jahangir Khan & Zaman Khan) did not attend any of RTC but Bilawal Bhutto's great grand father Shah Nawaz Bhutto participated in 2nd RTC. On top of it Imran Khan had shared the image in 2018 on Independence Day, mentioning that Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal were sitting next to his relatives. The sentence too irritate many people and exposed the false pride of Imran Khan.
