Without Knowing all the shades of #Punjabi struggle it is not possible to understand gapes in our#narrative . Sardar Ajit Singh was symbol of struggle and he narrated well in his autobiography published in 1984 first time by Gitanjali Publishing House LajpatNagar, New Delhi. Bharat.
Unfortunately, thanks to post 9/11 narratives, it is out of fashion to remember revolutionary struggle under the narrative of De-Radicalization campaigns. It threaten largely all types of Anti-colonial narratives without understanding reference to the context largely. We are not trying to redefine it but some of us want to putt all anti-colonial struggle narrative in a dustbin. It may suit many colonial apologists in many ways. But question remain there that what options we had in colonial societies and how it will justify to analysis all colonial history with post 9/11 narratives? Recently a friend Advocate Khalid Mahmood (Pen name #Nainsukh masterly wrote 6 stories in a book Aye Puray Di Wah (The East Wind Comes) in which at least in 4 biographical short stories you will find reflections & shades of struggle as well as trends of colonial times in #British #India.
Sardar Ajit Singh born in late 19th century and participated in famous yet forgotten anti-colonial Punjabi movement Pagri Sanbhal Jatta of 1906-7 and after released from #Burma (#MandalyJail) he went adjacent #Iran and met with #YoungPersians and here he started to learn new realities. He understood why #Turkey, #Iran, #Afghanistan & #IndianSubcontinent are one in struggle against #Raj. Will further write about it soon, now you read part 1 and its context too.
