Today is Press Freedom day yet in this #Corona Times there are forces that are still busy to ruin press freedom but they are fighting with the shadows. In this digital age, it is wastage of time to depend on 20th century weaponry. The jini of technology is already out of bottle and it has made borders irrelevant, not physically but practically as well as intellectually. It is a shared world with shared power, either someone like it or not. Corona can either delay things or countries may use it as an opportunity to enhance their connectivities but it is to be remember that no one can stop this fast moving infomatics.

“A free press can, of course, be good or bad, but, most certainly without freedom, the press will never be anything but bad,” said Albert Camus.

As the [COVID-19] pandemic spreads, it has also given rise to a second pandemic of misinformation, from harmful health advice to wild conspiracy theories. The press provides the antidote: verified, scientific, fact-based news and analysis.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres
