Annexation of the Punjab: playing with religion & ethnicity



Updated at 178th year of annexation  1849-2026

The Black Day, not only for the Punjabis and surrounding people but it was a black day for all South Asians. After the annexation of Lhore Darbar Lord Dalhousie wrote a letter to Queen and said that we had completed annexation of India yet in the last 78 years we South Asians remain reluctant to remember it? Textbooks in India, Pakistan as well as Bangladesh hardly mention that Day, what to talk about a lesson. The annexed us at a day when people were celebrating Mela Charaghan at the tomb of Mhdolal Hussain. 
Why this chapter is neither in textbooks nor so-called intellectuals wrote about it? From 1846 till 1849 this region fought three fights against Royal Bengal Army of East India Company. Fight @ Chilianwala (near Gujrat, Punjab) was very horrible for English as they lost 2000 soldiers . it was the Punjab's government Lhore Darbar who resisted for 50 years ( from 1799 to 1849). read the story of annexation
