Double Standards, Kashmir, UN Secretary General & our Fabulous mistakes

Double Standards, Kashmir, UN Secretary General & our Fabulous mistakes

Don't bank on false promises
either by US President or UN Secretary General

The article was written in Feb 2020 so after a year things are same yet in feb 2021 i add a title and few lines but Kashmir is still burning & Pakistani PTI government, as expected did not do any step just to please masters.

Double Standards, Kashmir, UN Secretary General & our Fabulous mistakes
Don't bank on false promises
either by US President or UN Secretary General
Under US pressure & misleading twists of Trump, the PTI govt failed to build the pressure on India & did a compromise like Ayub Khan did in past.

At this moment UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres is in my city Lhore, often misspelled as Lahore. Contrary to his radical ( also this word has been changed in recent times, thanks to cold war mindset, now a days it is a negative term..hahaha) background and strong EU & UN past, Mr Guterres is hiding behind human rights violations & digital ban by Indian State in occupied Kashmir. In the presence of UNSC resolutions passed in late 1940s and early 1970s, it is strange to limit criticism on India till human rights.
As par his Biography Prior to his appointment as Secretary-General, Mr. Guterres served as United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees from June 2005 to December 2015. Before joining UNHCR, Mr. Guterres spent more than 20 years in government and public service. He served as prime minister of Portugal from 1995 to 2002. In 2000 he was President of European Council too. Mr. Guterres was elected to the Portuguese Parliament in 1976 and was active in the Socialist International, a worldwide organization of social democratic political parties. He was the group’s vice-president from 1992 to 1999.
With such background he must be well aware with Kashmir issue. For India, Kashmir was an international issue in late 1940s and that is why its then Prime Minster had approached to UN for resolution. United Nation Resolutions in late 1940s clearly advocated the issue as international dispute and passed a resolution in favor of people living in the State of Jummo & Kashmir. In order to tackle international pressure Indian State adopted Article 370 and gave Kashmir a special status in their constitution of 1950. Thanks to cold war, the issue remain unresolved because USSR veto it in UNSC for many years. Mr Guterres well aware from cold war power politics that had restricted UN role in many regions for resolution of conflicts. But in early 1970s UNSC had passed another resolution ( 21st December 1971) that again pressurised India to resolve Kashmir. In 1972, India compelled to respond and in Shimla agreement of 1972, it had accepted Kashmir as bilateral issue between India & Pakistan. But it remain unresolved yet in Lhore resolution (1999) India again repeated its Shimla agreement position. Yet in last August India violated all international & regional agreements and had not only removed Article 370 but also divided the State of J&K unilaterally. Thanks to US pressure, there is not any potent pressure on India to cancel 5 August brutality. On contrary the pressure is to end human rights abuses and removal of digital ban.
The situation in Kashmir is similar to Palestine where Israel did advances and US remained silent. In last July US President in a smart move told Pakistani PM in front of media that Indian PM ask me to mediate on Kashmir issue. It proved an instigation to India and everyone had witnessed it at Agust 5. Yet Guardian had warned it timely and had published a report at 23rd July 2019 Fury in India over Donald Trump's Kashmir claims But Pakistani ruling click could not juge it timely and remained busy in banking their joy on tricky comments of Trump.

Saddam did same mistake and Modi is taking India to dead end after August 5 but if UN secretary General will remain silent on UN resolutions and Pakistan will remain banking on false promises then there will be no immense pressure on India regarding resolution of conflict at all. Mr SG should realize that he is not head of UNHCR but SG of UN. That is why like offer of Trump to mediate, India simply rejected UN Secretary General Offer. This rejection syndrome is increasing day by day and now a British MP too taste it. British MP Debbie Abrahams Visa Revoked Due To Activities Which Went Against India's National Interest: Government Sources
What are the national interests of India in the presence of UNSC resolutions of late 1940s and early 1970s? It is time to rethink for all.
