Women Day 2022
Its Time for action, Listen & move forward, Its 21st century
Why women issues are important, its not merely the quantity or population that is 50% but it is question of life and justice. When in 1880s Germany (Prussian Empire)
Bismarck had announced Adult Franchise for the first time in the world it was only for males. Although intellectuals like
Friedrich Engels supported and appreciated German act but it is a fact that Women started getting that right of adult vote not less than 1918. It is also a reality that adult franchise for all got prominence and great support in post WW2 scenario especially after declaration of HR charter.
Punjabi Sufi poets supported women since more than 700 years and their poetry is a proof of this claim where they found speaking as women too. The socio-political tale of HEER written by
Baba Waris Shah in 18th century itself is a good example where dominating Women character leads.

Using gender-inclusive language means speaking and writing in a way that does not discriminate against a particular sex, social gender or gender identity, and does not perpetuate gender stereotypes. Given the key role of language in shaping cultural and social attitudes, using gender-inclusive language is a powerful way to promote gender equality and eradicate gender bias.
The Guidelines available on this website include a number of recommendations to help United Nations staff to use gender-inclusive language in any type of communication — oral or written, formal or informal, or addressed to an internal or external audience. The Toolbox contains training materials on the practical application of the Guidelines, information on related training courses and other relevant resources.
