Divided Europe: When Germans were forced to change their Names
An example from recent history which reminds us how the flight of liberty, equality and freedom was fought not in an underdeveloped continent but in the most modern and liberated part of the world. it was 2nd decade of 20th century ....just read
Forgotten past: When #Germans were forced to change their names by so-called champions of #Democracy just 100 years back. Remember it was part of #AntiGerman mind set designed in last decade of 19th century, #Britain & #France were leaders while #US & #Russia were partners in arms.
In 1880s, Why Tsars and British came closer and did a tripartite agreement? it was power of German Bismarck that threatened all powers. In line with a proposal put forward by the British in September, 1869, the northern frontier of Afghanistan was fixed on the Amu Darya from Lake Zor Kōl. They first fixed Afghan border from Amu (Oxus) and then annexed Qandhar and Kabul in 1880 and finally made Durand Line and made #Afghanistan an independent country like Nepal but did not include it in #BritishIndia. All 4 powers were against Germans but US remained silent, Russia supported antiGerman agenda from the otherside of the fence while #UK & France were leading it.
Now you read how they had changed the names of Germans.
