Riddles of Private Schools in Pakistan A Radio debate @ FM103

Riddles of Private Schools in Pakistan

A Radio debate @ FM103

Issue of private education is very important in Pakistan. It is high time that Provincial assemblies and National assembly should resolve this riddle. State of Public Education is bad and it needs little attention

Who killed education in Pakistan?
Why Karachi opted for private education after 1947? What was the politics and pressures at that time?
Privatization was a hidden agenda behind Islamization of Zia ? Agenda was Privitization and denationalization yet banner was Islamization.

Privatization without regulation

is like a car without driver.

As par data of PMIU, more then 70% primary education is still in public sector.
The majority of private schools are low fee schools but since 1992 Education policy government is giving facilities in form of tax rebates, subsidies plots as well as transport to elite educational institutions who are less than 7% of private sector.
Millions of children entered in school education after nationalization since 1972. No doubt, there were issues in new system but zia ruined whole system by promoting private education. Even donors and WB were with Zia.
In order to control elite education it is essential to develop political consensus so that private school mafia cannot hide behind political divide.
If private education has good quality of education in their respective elite English medium institutions than why their kids have to go for tutions? No one is ready to question presence of Academies ?
It is high time that we should discuss Sacred Cow i-e The Education in assemblies.
One should question nexus of private media and private education.
