Women & Punjab Day
Why So much controversies?
(Listen the debate)
Why so much criticism on #WomenMarch? It remind us opposition of #Punjabi in 1950s & 1960s in #Pakista. This time target is میرا جسم، میری مرضی but opposition of #WM is not new. In many ways opposition to diversity especially against #Punjabi language is similar. What is this mindset?
Guests: Nain Sukh Shazia Cheema & Ahmad Raza Watto
Our policy makers often talk about the progress made by #US, #China #Germany #UK #Russia #Japan, some also give reference of #Turkey #Malaysia etc and in all these countries #women have rights, they can work in any sector. In these countries there is a zero tolerance against harassment, hate speech and discrimination but all three syndromes are very much present in our official textbooks. Below you will find two quotes of #AllamaIqbal & #QuaideAzam of 1902 and 1929, but we did not care about it before drafting policies. Similar mindset is there against Punjab & Punjabi. So we discuss it in a radio show Lok Lhar, recorded 06 March 2020 at #Mastfm103, Lhore studios.
