Member of CPI and among founders of CPP, M Raf Malik was born in
Lahore’s famous mohalla, Kocha Chabakswaraan at Cotober, 01, 1926. Due to his
elder brother Abdullah Malik and his uncle Fazal Elahi Qurban he had
opportunity to expose with progressive ideas at early stage along with his
class fellow Shamim Ashraf Malik. He has enjoyed the company of early
communists & progressive personalities like Mian Iftiqar u din, Teja Singh
Sotantar, Eric Sipreen, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Sohan Singh Josh, Sajjad Zaheer, Dada
Feroz u din Mansur, Zahier Kashmiri, Ahmad Rahi, Sadat Hassan Manto, C R Aslam,
Khwaja Masood, Zafar ullah Poshni etc and he penned it in his upcoming
autobiography. His critical appreciation of history will add a new chapter in
communist literature of Pakistan.
Faiz Ahmad Faiz and Syed Sajjad Zaheer are the world wide known
intellectuals whose impact is well establish in the literary history of not
South Asian sub-continent only but all over the world.
The both pioneered the Progressive Writers Association in the
Indian sub-continent and remained close to each other during their lives.

It is an amazing fact that one of their associate Mr. Abdul Rauf
Malik who remained close and loyal to these intellectuals giant is still with
us.
It is Mr. Malik's privilege that he not only remained in touch
with his seniors throughout their life. He authored books about them based on
his acquaintances with them. Now he has penned a very exhaustive book of his
own reminiscences which is under print and will be out after few months. It is
hoped that the book will be a mine of information about the communist role in
the Pakistan Movement.
His birthday was celebrated by friends at cosmopolitan
Club, Lawrence garden, the mall lhore 2016.

سالگرہ
کمیونسٹ پارٹی آف انڈیا
کے کل وفتی کارکن اور کمیونسٹ پارٹی آف پاکستان کے بانی اراکین میں شامل لاہور کے
عبدالروف ملک کل 90 برس کے ہوگئے۔ ملک صاحب کی سوانح حال ہی میں مکمل ہوئی ہے اور
اگلے ماہ مارکیٹ میں آجائے گی۔ میاں افتخارالدین، دادا فیروزالدین منصور، تیجا
سنگھ سو تنتر، ظہیر کاشمیری، سوہن سنگھ جوش، ایرک سپرین، سجاد ظہیر، فیض احمد فیص،
ظفر اللہ پوشنی، سی آر اسلم، خواجہ مسعود، احمد راہی، سعادت حسن منٹو، راجندر سنگھ
بیدی سے قربت اور 1947 کے آس پاس کی سیاست کے گواہ عبدالروف ملک لاہور کے کوچہ
چابک سوراں میں یکم اکتوبر1926کو پیدا ہوئے تھے۔
مشہور ترقی پسند لکھاری عبداللہ ملک ان کے بڑے بھائی تھے تو کمیونسٹ رہنما شمیم اشرف ملک ان کے ہم جماعت جبکہ 1920 کی دہائی میں سرگرم کمیونسٹ فضل الٰہی قربان ان کے والد کے پرانے یار تھے۔ یوں ترقی پسندی کی طرف راغب نوجوان عبدالروف ملک کو 1944 میں پارٹی میں شامل کیا گیا اور پھر وہ تین سال پارٹی کے حکم پر تحریک پاکستان میں بھی سرگرم رہے۔ ان کی سوانح میں آپکو پرانے بدلتے لاہور کی کہانی بھی ملے گی،1942 سے 1954 تک سی پی آئی اور سی پی پی کی جہد مسلسل کی بازگشت بھی ملے گی، تحریک پاکستان میں کمیونسٹوں کی جدوجہد بھی ملے گی جسے جان بوجھ کر نظر انداز کردیا گیا اور لاہور میں اک صدی سے جاری پبلشنگ کی داستان بھی۔ انہیں پاکستان میں پنجابی کی پہلی شاندار کتاب ترنجن (شاعر احمد راہی) چھاپنے پر ناز ہے اور چھ مرتبہ جیل جانے کو بھی وہ نہیں بھولے۔ ان کا اسرار ہے کہ اپنی تاریخ کو جانے بغیر نوجوان ترقی پسندی کی نئی راہوں کا تعین نہیں کرسکتے۔
