Honor Killing Bill: Parliament Did well but Supper Media looks nerves ? Why?
Is the season is not right to praise Parliamentary system these days. Pakistan got praise from the whole world but like Indian Media some popular newspapers failed to publish the news at Front Pages. It looks strange? New York Times, Guardian, BBC praised Parliament and Pakistan which is a rare things in the season of misleading media coverage about Pakistan in international press yet Jang, the leading newspaper, Dawn, the leading English newspaper failed to give that news a space at front page. Interestingly in Jang group English newspaper The News it is publish at Front Page. Parliament pass it unanimously which is a good sign yet our media especially electronic media remained buy yesterday in telecasting infighting in assembly. They either ignored it or cover it with little time. It is not responsible attitude. Ironically women right organizations did not respond timely that is also very strange. Someone may have reservations but in many ways it is a step forward and it would be praised timely. The liberal Dawn neither published it at front page nor back page yet the news item got a place at page 4 inside. Jang and Khabreen published it at back page. Conservative Nawa e Waqat and Dunya published it at front pages yet it was a main heading of Express Urdu, the only Urdu Newspaper. Nation, Daily Times and Tribune Pakistan made it main head line.
The bill was initiated by PPP yet all parliamentary parties supported it but PTI was not in the house when the bill was passed unanimously.
