Spectre of Peshawar tragedy
is haunting everyone in Pakistan
Peshawar
incident has expanded the gulf between Government political parties and extremists,
terrorists. What happened with IK was a lesson not only for Imran but also for all
hidden supporters. Marriage is right of IK yet its timing disturbs everyone.
Media coverage of that marriage ceremony even played a vital role too. Was IK
really failed to comprehend natural reaction of the victims? Or he has to marry
in hurry due to some unknown internal pressures from her wife? If media raised
such questions, its ground was provided by the couple.
It was time
when IK would call a high powered meeting in Peshawar regarding security and
did bold steps in the frontier province but he remained busy in the
celebrations of his marriage.
In this
fight against extremism & terrorism focus of media is on fixing of
terrorists which needs little attention. It is time to shift the focus on extremism
and link it to rule of law.
Some political
players like Altaf and Rashid are as usual playing with perception that now
army is at driving seat yet everyone knew it is their hidden desire only.
Wright of
the state is one aspect but larger question is revival of a peaceful society in
Pakistan. We all have to play our role for this revival otherwise spectre will
haunt all of us.
