Climate Change & Pakistan:Are we ready to map this monster?
Peshawar incident once again
exposed state of dealing with disasters and our so-called independent media
failed to raise the issue properly. How General Mushraf ruined NDMA has a
lesson for those who spent huge international money and expertise to develop a
system to combat natural disaster in Pakistan. No one can enforce reform agenda in the
absence of political consensus. Setting up headquarter of NDMA in PM house is
not enough rather it proved another failed exercise and wastage of huge
money. Climate Change is visible yet we
have not any system in provinces and districts. we did not learn lesson from Anatol Lieven's warning regarding climate change in the opening pages of his unusal book Pakistan A Hard country. Read and map the apathy
