Safoora Killings & Problems in infected Elite education ......just recheck the misleading narrative

Safoora Killings & Problems

in infected Elite education ......

just recheck the misleading narrative

Why we are astonish to know about Safoora killers?
They showed us the mirror only. They are product of our policies.
It is neither first time nor sudden and you can easily find mushroom growth of complex religio-sectarian trends especially among new elite since 1990s. In Pakistan the phenomenon of Islamization and privatization grew side by side since post Bhutto era. In many ways both compliment each other and both have larger then State objectives by default. Both got free hand in 1980s partly due to immediate needs of military dictator General Zia and partly due to international dictate that can be map from Western sponsored Afghan Jihad till Structural Adjustment Program.  On top of it we have intellectuals who timely criticized Islamization but never registered their reservations against unregulated privatization. They thought privatization a secular phenomenon so they remained reluctant to demand regulatory mechanism for it. They have a legacy to calling colonialism a secular phenomenon and that legacy continued when they supported privatization. Had they separated modernity with colonialism things would be different in 1980s . So in privatization we ignored local preferences, continuity and culture. In this scenario we witnessed mushroom growth of private educational institutions since 1980s. Some of us portrayed them as symbol of modernity and secularism. But in reality they were/are merely money making machines. They have no connection with preferences of people, education needs of society, neither bother about continuity nor culture or cultures. Naturally the product (Students) they are producing have no connection with society at large. By and large these Students either want to go abroad or to earn huge money. They are more interested in grabbing power rather then serving the people. Their symbols are foreign , their ideals are foreign, etc. Middle classes are running like dogs so that their children can get entry in the haven of elite education. As middle class parents are busy in earning huge money to pay lucrative fees so they have no time for their children. What is missing in this is connectivity with the cultures and absence of volunteerism. Why we are astonish to know about Safoora killers? They showed us the mirror only. They are product of our policies.
